Land Multi-degradation Index (LMI)

This interactive web map presents the Land Multi-degradation Index (LMI) and the underlying data for European agricultural and arable lands, aggregated from NUTS0 to NUTS3. By default, NUTS areas are styled by the percentage of agricultural area affected by significant multi-degradation — defined as at least three co-occurring degradation processes. Click any NUTS area to open a pop-up showing its name, agricultural and total area (km²), and the share of each process (critical class) and of the LMI classes. Use the layer switcher in the top-right corner to toggle individual processes, the Arable and Agricultural LMI layers, and the OpenStreetMap base map.
